Fishing - WADAA  Fisheries around Windermere (Windermere, Ambleside & District Angling Association)

Mylne Bridge House guest house is a corporate hotel member of WADAA with permits for all fisheries available to our guests entirely free of charge.

(Limited number of permits available and must be reserved in advance)

WADAA waters provide private club fly fishing on a range of two rivers and six splendid, picturesque upland lakes and tarns including Ghyll Head and High Newton for both rainbow and brown trout, with stock fish in the range of 1.5 - 6 lbs and double figure specimens. Five coarse fisheries also include Grasmere and Rydal Water with stocks of good sized carp, tench, bream, roach, perch and pike at the various locations.

To avoid disappointment, it is important that we are told at the time of booking your stay at Mylne Bridge House that you wish to take advantage of the angling facilities.

Please note that permits can only be issued on production of a valid rod licence.

Jim is a keen fly fisherman and an association official who appreciates the needs of anglers away from home waters.

Abundant local knowledge, maps and fly patterns together with a full selection of fly fishing tackle is available if you forget or break something or need to hire. It may be possible if you have never fly fished before that Jim can accompany you and provide basic tuition to get you started. Flask filling is available by arrangement together with catch freezer and tackle store.
